Commonly asked questions about coaching

What are the benefits of coaching?

  • Fresh perspective on areas of your life that may feel stagnant.

  • Opportunity for personal growth.

  • Setting healthy boundaries.

  • Taking those first bold steps! that may feel overwhelming.

Whether you're looking to breathe new life into your daily routine or need support in achieving your goals, coaching provides the tools and encouragement you need.

How often do I meet with my coach?

I recommend 50 minute sessions twice a month.

It takes time to build our rapport and do the transformational work to reach your goals. I recommend committing to a minimum of 5 sessions when you begin.

What happens during our sessions?

  • First Meeting: We begin by discussing your goals and desired outcomes (e.g., "I want to be a calmer parent"). We’ll also establish the dynamics of our relationship—how much challenge and support you want from me, and how much "homework" you're willing to do between sessions.

  • Subsequent Meetings: Each session starts with you setting the agenda by answering questions like, "What would you like to talk about today?" or "How would you like to feel when you leave this session?" This approach ensures that our conversations align with your goals. I'll listen deeply, ask questions, and may suggest "homework" for you to complete before our next session. We’ll often begin the next session by reflecting on your progress before diving into what’s important for you at that moment.

How is coaching different from therapy?

While therapy often explores conflicts and provides a diagnosis, coaching is future focused and grounded in your strengths and potential. Coaching empowers you by helping you move toward your goals with increased self-awareness and confidence.

Do we meet in person?

If you’re near my office in Ipswich, MA, we can meet in person! Otherwise, we can conduct our sessions via Zoom or over the phone.

Do you accept insurance?

I don’t accept insurance at this time. I accept payment via Venmo or Zelle.
